Pretty Simple Privacy
A small, independent project built around a simple idea: digital privacy does not have to be complicated. The tools already exist and the knowledge is out there — what has been missing is a place that brings them together honestly, without jargon and without trying to sell you anything.
Pretty Simple Privacy is run as a hobby from Switzerland, with no funding, no advertising and no investors. Everything is published in English and German, aimed at anyone who wants to understand what happens to their data online and take practical steps to protect it — no technical background required.
What’s on the Site
- Blog — articles on digital privacy and surveillance, explained in plain language
- Simple Privacy Fixes — practical, personally tested steps covering browsing, search, email, messaging and VPNs, with more on passwords and cloud storage to come
- Tools Directory — a curated list of privacy tools, currently in the works
Nothing gets listed unless it is open source or source-available, has no advertising business model, does not sell or broker data, and has been personally tested. If a tool misses any of those, it does not appear on the site.
